SPATIAL DEVELOPMENT OF THE ST. PETERSBURG AGGLOMERATION IN SOCIO-ECONOMIC ASPECT

The article highlights the key factors determining the process of formation and transformation of the urban environment, examines the theoretical aspects of the formation of the spatial structure of the agglomeration and analyzes the development. Special attention is paid to the problems faced by the agglomeration, as well as the prospects and options for its further development. As an engine in the development of the St. Petersburg agglomeration, the development of the city's transport infrastructure has been identified as a priority.
