Optimal Configuration of PV-energy Storage Systems in Industrial Parks Considering Peak Electricity Prices in Winter and Summer

With the increasing frequency and magnitude of peak electricity consumption during winter and summer, numerous regions are implementing seasonal peak electricity prices to guide users towards more rational power consumption. This paper proposes an optimization model for configuring photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage (ES) capacities in industrial parks considering seasonal peak electricity prices. Unlike traditional methods that rely on simulating typical days based on average consumption patterns, this paper proposes selecting typical days for months with peak electricity price implementation separately, and then combining them with typical days from other months to form a comprehensive set of typical days incorporating peak price scenarios. Subsequently, an optimization model is constructed, aiming to minimize the total investment cost (PV and ES) and operation and maintenance costs in the industrial park while satisfying operational constraints such as power balance for all selected typical days. A case study is conducted based on a modified industrial park. The results demonstrate that optimizing PV and ES capacities considering seasonal peak electricity prices effectively reduces the overall cost of the industrial park.
