An Improved Adaptive Inertia and Damping Control Strategy for Virtual Synchronous Generator
With the growing emphasis and advancements in microgrid research, the stability of microgrids has become a critical concern. The virtual synchronous generator (VSG) control strategy integrates the inertial and damping characteristics of synchronous generators into inverter control, thereby enhancing system frequency response and bolstering the microgrid's resilience to disturbances. However, this approach also introduces trade-offs in dynamic regulation performance. Building on this foundation, this paper proposes an advanced adaptive control strategy for dynamically adjusting the inertia, damping, and virtual inductance coefficients of VSG. First, we develop a comprehensive mathematical model of VSG and conduct an in-depth analysis of how each parameter influences the system's output characteristics. Second, based on the established VSG control framework, we introduce a coordinated control strategy for damping and virtual inductance coefficients, along with a stability analysis under varying parameter conditions. Finally, MATLAB/Simulink simulations demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed control strategy through comparative analysis with traditional VSG control methods.
