Phase-Sensitive Measurement of Multichromatic Multimode Quantum Light

A phase-sensitive measurement scheme is proposed for multichromatic multimode quantum signal light, in which all the modal annihilation operators of the received signal light can be measured simultaneously. This scheme is free of the excess noise and the 3-dB quantum noise penalty, and can be applied in a quantum LiDAR or microscope to discriminate the quantum state of the received signal photons from the natural clutter photons.

Abstract

A phase-sensitive measurement scheme is proposed for multichromatic multimode quantum signal light, in which all the modal annihilation operators of the received signal light can be measured simultaneously. This scheme is free of the excess noise and the 3-dB quantum noise penalty, and can be applied in a quantum LiDAR or microscope to discriminate the quantum state of the received signal photons from the natural clutter photons.
