Simulation on High-Pressure Injecting Thermal Flow from Broken Bleed Pipe in a Compartment of a Civil Aircraft
This paper evaluates the impact of a rupture of the high-pressure bleed gas line of the inerting system in a type of civil aircraft on the temperature field of the compartment of the aircraft, and further evaluates the risk of fire arising from the rupture. This paper carries out CFD numerical simulation of thermal jet flow in the cabin under severe rupture condition. Due to the large pressure difference between the inside and outside of the rupture port, the complexity of the jet flow phenomenon, the huge size difference between rupture hole and the aircraft cabin, complex radiation condition from the high temperature surface of the pipeline, there is complex heat and mass transfer resulting to convergence difficulties of the numerical simulation. In this paper, the thermal injecting flow model is established and the application of step-by-step adaptive relaxation scheme was developed to achieve numerical convergence of the thermal jet simulation.
