Numerical Simulation on the Periodic Characteristics of a Special Cascade
The periodicity of the flow field is the premise for the accuracy and reliability of the cascade test results. Before conducting the cascade wind tunnel test, it is necessary to study whether the cascade test piece can guarantee the periodic characteristics. This paper studies the periodicity characteristics of a special structure linear cascade with an integrated Strut OGV configuration, and explores the way to ensure the periodicity characteristics of the lateral boundary of the cascade by adding auxiliary blades on the outside of the cascade. At the same time, the flow field characteristics under the scaled model of the cascade are calculated. Through calculation, it is found that adding two auxiliary blades on the outside of the cascade can effectively ensure the periodicity of the flow field, and there is no significant difference in the performance of the scaled model compared with the original cascade. Therefore, when conducting subsequent wind tunnel tests on the cascade, the consistency of the flow field characteristics of the test cascade with the original cascade can be ensured by scaling and adding auxiliary blades.
