Resilient Critical Load Restoration for Electric-Gas-Heat Integrated Energy Systems Considering Infrastructure Interdependency

Extreme events, such as earthquakes, can damage the facilities of electric and natural gas infrastructures, leading to large-scale outages and natural gas supply interruptions. For an electric-gas-heat integrated energy system (IES) consisting of electric, gas, and heat distribution networks, local resources can be coordinated to restore the supply to critical electric, gas, and heating loads under such circumstances. In this paper, a resilient critical load restoration method for electric-gas-heat IES is proposed, taking into account the interdependencies among the three critical infrastructures. The objective is maximizing the weighted total number of critical loads weighting by their priority. Operational constraints of electric, gas, and heating distribution networks along with the coupling constraints among systems, are comprehensively considered. The critical load restoration problem for IESs is formulated as a mixed-integer second-order cone program. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is validated on an IES composed of a 33-node distribution network, a 16-node natural gas network, and a 15node heat network.
