An Efficient Dual-T-type AC-DC-AC Converter based on Partial Power Processing

The paper proposes a Dual-T-type partial power processing converter, which offers advantages such as multilevel operation, modularity, and direct high-voltage access. A transformer is incorporated to reduce stress on the switching devices by sharing a portion of the grid current. The AC grid plays a direct role in establishing the output through the transformer, allowing power to be transmitted directly between the source and the load without passing through the converter. This reduces conduction and switching losses, thereby improving converter efficiency. The paper provides a detailed analysis of the converter's topology and operating principle, explicitly deriving the current/voltage stresses on the switching devices. Additionally, it compares the losses with those of a full-power Dual-T-type converter. Simulation results confirm the effectiveness of the proposed solution.
