Novel Switching Inductor DC-DC Wide Range Boost Converter Design for Hydrogen Fuel Cells
In recent years, with the rapid development of the new energy industry, the hydrogen fuel cell DC-DC boost converter has also received extensive attention from researchers and has become a hot topic of research in the field of new energy. The traditional switched inductor DC-DC boost converter has a high switching tube voltage stress and a range limitation of duty cycle in practical applications, thus the output voltage gain range is limited. In this study, a novel DC-DC boost converter based on switched inductor topology is proposed and designed for hydrogen fuel cell system. As a clean energy carrier, hydrogen fuel cell has significant advantages such as zero carbon emission, high energy conversion efficiency (more than 60%), and convenient fuel refueling, which shows better environmental characteristics and practical value compared with traditional fossil fuel or methanol fuel cells[1]. The new topology is designed to improve the output voltage gain, reduce the switching tube voltage stress, and reduce the ripple of the inductor. By analyzing the topology of the new switched inductor for hydrogen fuel cell, the boost ratio and the voltage stress of the switching tube are calculated, and at the same time, the voltage gains of the traditional converter and the new switched inductor converter for hydrogen fuel cell proposed in the paper are compared. Finally, the reasonableness and realizability of this topology are verified by simulation.
