Intelligent External Graphics Dock Based on Thunderbolt 4 Interface
With the rapid advancement of AI technology, the performance of GPUs in personal laptops is increasingly falling short of requirements, necessitating the use of more powerful desktop computers or external GPU docks for AI model training.[1] Most existing GPU docks lack a finished casing, making them inconvenient to carry, and they do not have power failure protection measures. To address these issues, an external GPU dock system for laptops has been designed. This system includes built-in lithium-ion batteries, a battery management system, and a power path selection system, allowing it to continue supplying power to the GPU after an external power failure. It also features a DC-DC power system, supporting wide voltage input and enhancing the product's completeness. Under the influence of various systems, this enables personal laptops to connect to external desktop-level GPUs with fewer required operations, making the external GPU dock more portable.
