Research on Test Method for Slat Skew of Aircraft
During the slat skew test, one of the slat actuators is intentionally disconnected to simulate a potential slat skew fault during aircraft flight. This creates an intentional unevenness between adjacent slats of the aircraft wing, allowing for effective detection of faults in the aircraft high lift system. A lanyard type detection system is used for skew sensing for slat stations on each wing of aircraft. The deflected slats cause stretching of the wire rope or cable in the slat skew detection system. This paper presents a method for testing elongation in the wire rope or cable of the slat skew detection system in laboratory test environment by installing a displacement sensor on the slats to enable real-time measurement. This method is straightforward, reliable, and cost-effective and has been successfully applied in verifying a specific aircraft model.
