Design of ABS Functional Safety Architecture Based on ISO 26262
This paper focuses on the functional safety design of Anti-lock Braking Systems (ABS) in compliance with ISO 26262. Through Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA) and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), typical failure modes—such as sensor faults, ECU errors, and hydraulic failures—are identified and assigned appropriate ASIL levels. Based on these results, a safety architecture targeting ASIL D is proposed, incorporating a three-layer design: Functional Control, Functional Monitoring, and Chip Monitoring. The system leverages the AURIX TC3E7QX microcontroller and TLF35584 power management chip to ensure fault tolerance, redundancy, and real-time diagnostics. This layered approach enhances the reliability of ABS in diverse and extreme driving conditions, offering a practical framework for future safety-critical automotive applications.
