Study on Thermal Field Distribution of Civil Aircraft Wheel and Brake

The brake absorbs most of the aircraft kinetic energy and turn it into heat. The brake heat transfers to the surrounding environment and surrounding structures. High temperatures are very detrimental to the structure of load-bearing capacity, and even serious failures occur. Therefore, this paper carried out a comprehensive analysis of the thermal field of wheel and brake considering heat conduction, convection and radiation. This result is useful to understand the heat transfer mode among brake discs, and the trend of wheel temperature change. Special attention should be paid to wheel temperature because the continuous high temperature due to heat accumulation in aircraft design and operation.
