Reactive Power Characteristics of Phase-Shifted Diode Rectifier Based Distant Offshore Wind Farm Transmission System
Phase-shifted Diode Rectifier (PSDR) based topology is one of the critical solutions for achieving low-cost and system-lightweighting transmission of distant offshore wind power. This paper establishes mathematical model for diode rectifier AC/DC voltage/current and active/reactive power relationship considering diode commutation process. Three key determinants of reactive power generation in PSDR systems are identified based on the above model: transmission active power, number of diode rectifiers, and leakage inductance of phase-shifted transformer (PST). This paper reveals fundamental mechanisms and distribution patterns of reactive power generation of PSDR-based offshore wind transmission systems. Simulation results validate the theoretical analysis.
