Development of a Low-Cost, High-Life, and High-Efficiency Convertor for an Autonomous Photovoltaic Water Pumping System

Water pumping systems have recently advanced improvement in the agricultural sector, particularly with the input source of photovoltaic (PV) for electricity generation. The water management and irrigation sector frequently apply an induction motor for better water supply. The proposed approach uses a Full-Bridge Three-Phase Voltage Source Inverter (VSI), a Resonant Two-Inductor Boost Converter (TIBC) technique, and a current-fed multi-resonant conversion device to overcome these drawbacks and improve performance and efficiency. Experimental results demonstrate that at a maximum rating of 210 W, the combined DC/DC converter and VSI have a peak efficiency of 91%. The DC/DC operation has a peak productivity of 93.64%. The entire converter amount is less than 0.43 U$/Wp, and the lack of electrolytic capacitors ensures a protracted lifespan for the entire system. The output calculated and reliable solution is ideal for supplying water to distant locations and deprived people.
