Integration of Radar and Communication Signal Design Based on Phase-shift Position Modulation
Integration of radar and communication can effectively alleviate spectrum congestion and reduce the size of electronic equipment. It is one of the main research directions of multifunctional integrated electronic system. This paper proposes a new integrated radar and communication signal design method based on phase shift position modulation. The radar signal pulse is divided into multiple time periods, and different communication information is represented by phase shifting different time periods. Since the applied phase shift has little effect on the original radar signal, the traditional pulse compression can be used to realize the coherent integration and target detection at the radar receiver. At the communication receiver, the communication information is demodulated by detecting the phase jump within the pulses. The simulation results show that the proposed signal has a constant modulus characteristic and can realize the stable transmission of communication information under the premise of ensuring the radar detection performance.
