Adaptive Frequency Regulation Control Method for Wind Turbines Based on Grid Frequency Regulation Demand
As renewable energy usage rises, the power system's inertia and frequency regulation capacity decline, affecting frequency security and stability. Incorporating renewable energy sources into power system frequency regulation is vital for enhancing system frequency characteristics. However, the current design of renewable energy frequency regulation control methods mainly aims to improve its frequency regulation performance, which is challenging when adapting to the diversified needs of the grid. In this paper, based on the analysis of the generic frequency regulation control for wind turbines (WTs), the system frequency response (SFR) model of the power system considering wind turbine frequency regulation is established. Subsequently, an adaptive frequency regulation control method for WTs that comprehensively evaluates the typical grid operation scenarios, typical power disturbances and multiple frequency characteristic indicators is proposed. Simulation verification conducted on the Simulink platform confirms that the method proposed in this paper enables adaptive regulation of various frequency control parameters of wind turbines according to grid frequency demands. This ensures system frequency security while considering economic factors.
