Squinted Automotive Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Imaging Algorithm Based on Modified Range Migration Algorithm (RMA)
This paper presents a novel automotive squinted SAR imaging method based on sub-aperture azimuth spectrum mosaicking (SASM) for implementing high-resolution and real-time imaging for squinted automotive frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) synthetic aperture radar (SAR). Initially, the echo data collected by SAR is partitioned into multiple non-overlapping sub-apertures. Then, the modified RMA is applied to accurately perform range cell migration correction (RCMC) and range compression. Subsequently, the sub-aperture data are mapped into the whole aperture coordinate to perform SASM between neighboring aperture data, thereby efficiently obtaining the azimuth spectrum of the full-aperture data. Finally, the azimuth inverse fast Fourier transform (IFFT) is employed to implement high-resolution imaging of the full-aperture data. The validity and efficacy of the proposed algorithm are substantiated by simulation experiments.
