Frequency Control of Multi-Area Power Systems Based on State Estimation and Model Predictive Control
With the continuous integration of intermittent and distributed energy resources, the significance of load frequency control in multi-area interconnected power systems has increased markedly. This paper proposes an effective frequency measurement method based on synchronized phasor measurement and estimates the state quantity of power system frequency deviation. On this basis, combined with the current excellent model predictive control (MPC), we also proposes an improved load frequency control (LFC) model for multi-area interconnected power systems. Simulations results carried out in MATLAB 2022a demonstrate the superior performance of our proposed method in terms of both accuracy and speed.
