Optimized Allocation Method of Distribution Network Energy Storage Based on Renewable Energy Accommodation Capacity Estimation
To address the optimal configuration problem of distribution network (DN) energy storage (ES), this paper first proposes a renewable energy accommodation capacity estimation method on the basis of a DN model with renewable energy (RE). The optimization is constrained by the RE accommodation potential of the DN. Subsequently, a bi-level optimization model for DN ES is established. The upper-level model determines the optimal installation locations, rated capacity, and rated power of ES systems under the objective of minimizing the whole cost of ES investment and DN operation, while considering ES constraints. These decisions are then passed to the lower-level model. The lower-level model' purpose is the minimization of the whole operational cost of the DN after integrating ES. This operational cost incorporates the renewable energy accommodation capacity by multiplying the total curtailed wind and solar power by a penalty coefficient, thereby transforming the renewable energy accommodation objective into a cost minimization objective. Finally, simulation is carried out to prove that the method in this paper is more economical.
