Planning Method for Static Synchronous Compensator Based on Short-Circuit Ratio Improvement in New Energy Power Grids
In addressing the optimization planning problem of static synchronous compensators, a node phase sensitivity-based siting algorithm for static synchronous compensators is first proposed. This algorithm preliminarily selects a set of nodes for SSCOM installation based on the sensitivity of the compensator’s reactive power to the system voltage, thereby avoiding the difficulty in solving caused by high dimensionality of variables in subsequent planning. Subsequently, a planning model for static synchronous compensators is established with the objectives of maximizing the short-circuit ratio in new energy power systems and minimizing economic costs. The proposed method is validated through simulation using an improved IEEE 39-node system. The results demonstrate that the method can significantly enhance the short-circuit ratio with relatively low investment.
