A Channel Estimation Method for OFDM Signals in Power Line Communication System

This study proposes an improved channel estimation method for power line communication (PLC) system using orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM). The proposed method integrates a one-dimensional interpolation method based on distance weighting, significantly enhancing the ability to track time-varying channels. To further mitigate noise interference while preserving multipath information, a dynamic time-domain noise reduction window function is introduced. Simulation results indicate that the proposed method achieves a 1.18dB reduction in bit error rate (BER) compared to the traditional LS-DFT method when the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is 16dB. Furthermore, validation using real data from a PLC system demonstrates that the processed constellation diagram exhibits clear convergence, effectively compensating for channel distortion.
