Design of Ultra-Wideband Organic Array Antenna for Wireless Power Transfer Application

The study proposes a 4x4 microstrip patch array antenna designed for wireless power transfer applications, utilizing an organic, biodegradable, compostable jute substrate. This sustainable material has a dielectric constant (ε_r) of 1.5 and a tangent loss (tanδ) of 0.01, making it an environmentally friendly choice for antenna design. The antenna operates within the ultra-wideband frequency range, which spans from 3.1 to 10.6 GHz, offering a broad spectrum of communication capabilities. The antenna array measures 170 x 170 mm2, with each microstrip patch element sized at 6 mm x 4 mm, forming a 4x4 array configuration. The design and performance evaluation of the antenna were carried out using CST software. The resonance frequency of 4.148 GHz, the antenna achieves a return loss of -20.78 dBi, a VSWR of 1.6. Additionally, at frequencies of 2.45 GHz and 5.8 GHz, the antenna generates peak voltages of approximately 2 V and 2.5 V, respectively.
