Role of Intracardiac Echocardiography in Ventricular Tachycardia Ablation: Where Is the Scar?
Ventricular tachycardia (VT) treatment in patients with cardiomyopathies often relies on antiarrhythmic drugs. However, long-term outcomes improve with early ablation, as pharmacotherapy can be limited by both efficacy and tolerance.1-3 Intracardiac echocardiography (ICE) may aid in identifying target areas of interest for subsequent voltage mapping. We present a case that highlights ICE to target and aid treatment of recurrent VT through an epicardial approach in a patient with nonischemic cardiomyopathy (NICM).
