Optimal Configuration of Distribution Network Feeder Terminals Considering Distributed Power Sources

This paper proposes an optimal configuration strategy for Feeder Terminal Units (FTUs) in distribution networks, considering the impact of Distributed Generation (DG). Firstly, the impact of different FTU configurations on load interruption duration is analyzed, and areas are divided based on the proposed installation locations of FTUs, with load interruption loss models established for different areas. Secondly, a full probability model is introduced to calculate the probability of DG islanding under fault conditions, and its importance weight is determined according to DG capacity, thereby constructing a photovoltaic islanding loss model. Then, an optimal configuration model is established, with power supply reliability as a constraint, and minimizing the weighted sum of FTU installation costs, load interruption losses, and DG islanding losses as the objective. Finally, the accuracy of the proposed optimization model is verified through the IEEE 33-bus distribution network model.
