Regulation mechanism of firing temperature on freeze-thaw resistance of porcelain insulators and process optimisation
This study focuses on the role of firing temperature in regulating the freeze-thaw resistance of porcelain insulators, and by reveals the influence of temperature on the densification and freeze-thaw stability of the material the mechanical properties and microstructure of samples fired at different firing temperatures (1240-1320°C) under the process. The results show that the compressive strength of the specimen fired at 1260℃ in the dry process reaches 358 MPa, and the strength is increased by 3-5% after freezing and thawing, while the strength of the sample fired at 1280℃ plummets by 53% due to the excess of glass phase. The results provide a theoretical basis for the precise regulation of the firing process of porcelain insulators in alpine regions. comparing dry
