Static Strength Reliability Study of Civil Aircraft Pressurized Cabin Door Stop Mechanism
This paper develops a method of calculating reliability of aircraft cabin door stop joints‘ parts based on static strength analysis. Failure modes are identified and the corresponding stress are measured in the model. The typical stress-strength interference model has been applied to calculate the reliability and the probability of static failures along with certain failure modes. The result of a calculation example shows the probability of static strength failure could be low enough to generate 100% reliability approximately. Risks of failures are estimated and under control by taking the dispersion of the key factors into consideration. This study is the basis of rationalizing safety factor of aircraft’ mechanic components to satisfy the reliability target.
