Prospects for Russian-Chinese Cooperation in the Context of the Greater Eurasian Partnership

Russia and China are leading states in the international arena, forming a multipolar world and have their own foreign policy integration projects (strategies) aimed at the Eurasian continent. The core of the domestic updated concept of foreign policy with Russia as the key center of Eurasia is the formation of the Greater Eurasian Partnership (BEP). The leaders of Russia and China express their focus on the parallel and coordinated formation of the BEP and the Chinese “One Belt and One Road” initiative. At the same time, the parallel development of independent projects in the Eurasian space implies their intersection, overlapping each other, and allows one project to be absorbed by another. The article examines the prospects for the development of Russian-Chinese cooperation and national integration projects, puts forward theses regarding the restrained development of interaction in the practical field, and gives recommendations for overcoming difficulties and increasing the effectiveness of cooperation. As one of the observations regarding the slow disclosure of the potential of cooperation, the author notes the imperfection of the methodological approach of the state apparatus. Original approaches to this conclusion are proposed.
