The Results of the 14th International Scientific and Practical Conference “Russia and China: The History and Prospects of Cooperation” (Blagoveshchensk — Heihe, May 30 — June 2, 2024)

The article is dedicated to the results of the 14th International Scientific and Practical Conference “Russia and China: History and Prospects of Cooperation”, held on May 30 — June 2, 2024 at the Blagoveshchensk State Pedagogical University and at the Heihe University in the twin cities on the Amur River's banks — Blagoveshchensk (Russia) and Heihe (China). The conference brought together leading domestic and foreign experts in the field of international relations, history, political science and economics. The article discusses in detail the key topics of the conference, including historical aspects of Russian-Chinese relations, the current state of bilateral cooperation in the political, social and economic, humanitarian and cultural spheres. Special attention was paid to the seventh section of the conference "Russia and China in the System of Modern International Relations: Global and Regional Aspects of Interaction", which included discussions mainly related to the security problems of Russia and China, the development of transport infrastructure between countries, factors of energy and military-technical cooperation and the state of interregional relations between the Russian Federation and China. Cultural and philosophical aspects and their role in shaping China's foreign policy were highlighted. Some reports of the plenary session of the second part of the international conference in Heihe are analyzed. They were dedicated to the historical retrospective of the interactions between Russia, China and Mongolia. In conclusion, the main results of the International Conference are presented. The conference contributed to the creating a constructive dialogue between researchers from Russia and China. The intensification of mutual interest in the issues under consideration and the prospects for further development of the Russian-Chinese partnership in the scientific field were noted.
