UN Pact for the Future and Russia's View of the New International Legal Order

The relevance of the article is due to the need to analyze the position of the Russian Federation regarding the content of the UN Pact for the Future 2024, the adoption of which is aimed at forming a new international legal order. The novelty is manifested in the clarification of international legal differences between Russia and a group of States that joined it, which amended the Pact, on the one hand, and the majority of countries that voted for this document without amendments, on the other. The difference in understanding of the goals and tasks of future development is revealed and arguments are given to substantiate the legality of Russia's demands. The purpose of the study is to show the consequences of not taking into account the Russian position, namely, a significant reduction in the humanitarian meaning of the tasks set out in the Pact, creating a risk of behavior that violates the principles of ensuring rights and freedoms, peace, security and sustainable development based on respect and non-interference in the internal affairs of states, justice and equal dialogue. The article is based on formal legal and comparative legal research methods. As a result of the analysis, it was concluded that it is necessary to pay attention to a more serious consensus study of a number of provisions of the Pact, including taking into account the opinion of Russia, in order to increase its importance in shaping a new world order and consistently moving towards a better future.
