New Species and New Combinations in the Genus Drimiopsis Lindl. and Paxton (Asparagaceae, Scilloideae) from Mpumalanga and Limpopo, South Africa.
A broad concept of Drimiopsis burkei Baker has resulted in several distinct taxa being obscured through lack of alternative names. Three new species of Drimiopsis Lindl. & Paxton, hitherto filed under D. burkei in the National Herbarium, Pretoria, South Africa (PRE), are described and illustrated from wild and cultivated material grown at the Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden, Roodepoort, South Africa. Discussions, ecological notes, distribution maps and illustrations are provided. Two new combinations are also provided for: Drimiopsis stolonissima (discussion, map and illustrations provided) and Drimiopsis loskopicus (photographic plate provided to complement Hankey [2020]).
