Efek Musik Klasik terhadap Working Memory: Studi Eksperimen pada Mahasiswa di Malang Raya

Working memory is an interesting thing to study, especially among students because it can support lecture activities, such as storing information and remembering lecture material. This study aims to examine the effect of classical music, namely Mozart K448 on working memory in college students. The method of this research is experimental using between-subject design. The number of participants in this study was 61, with 29 participants being the experimental group and 32 participants being the control group. The research procedure involved the use of randomization to reduce individual differences in each group or as a control technique in this experiment. To measure working memory, the researcher utilized the Coglab application. The results of this study showed that classical music had no significant effect on working memory performance in university students. The study also identified several factors that may have influenced the results of the experiment, such as the room temperature, the venue, and the participants' music preferences that have shifted to classical music, which could be confounding variables in the study.
