CITRA STEREOTIPIKAL ORANG PRIBUMI PADA NOVEL JEJAK LANGKAH KARYA PRAMOEDYA ANANTA TOER: KAJIAN PASCAKOLONIAL

Abstract: Pramoedya Ananta Toer's novel Jejak Langkah represents orientalism throughcolonial figures from the West who stereotype the Indigenous people. The main issue examined in this study is how the stereotypical image of the Indigenous people is formed and reproduced through the actions and views of colonial figures. The West is positioned as superior, while the Indigenous people are seen as inferior, which is manifested in a dominating and dominant attitude. This study analyzes and describes the stereotypical image of the Indigenous people in Pramoedya Ananta Toer's novel Jejak Langkah. The theory used is postcolonial by highlighting aspects of orientalism. The data analysis method used is literature using a narrative-qualitative research approach. The results of this study indicate that the stereotypical image of the Indigenous people is consistently constructed through the practices of the Orientalists who emphasize the inequality of power relations between the colonizers and the colonized. This finding confirms that the novel Jejak Langkah not only voices resistance but also reveals how colonial discourse works in shaping identity and subordination.
