Green Synthesis of Nanoparticles Mediated Through Extract of Ageratina Adenophora
The Ageratina adenophora also known as Eupatorium adenophorum, commonly called cat weed, sticky weed, and crofton weed. It belongs to the Asteraceae family of plants. In moist conditions, this perennial, semi-shrubby herbaceous plant can grow up to 3 m in height. It is one of the most harmful invasive weeds that cause instability in the ecosystem. But currently, researches on A. adenophora are more concerned with the biological use of the plant resource than with preventing toxicity. Researchers have done work on synthesizing several kinds of nanoparticle (NPs), including silver, copper, iron, gold, and others from numerous Asteraceae members. For example, silver NPs were successfully synthesized by a simple green synthesis approach employing A. Adenophora leaf extract. .
