Energy-technological and design parameters during ferroalloy melting in electric furnaces by carbon-thermal process. Part 2. Increasing the size and weight of ferroalloy furnace equipment. Analysis of the causes of furnace performance deterioration
An analysis of the energy-technological parameters of ferroalloy smelting with an increase in furnace power is presented in order to increase their efficiency. As a result of increasing the power of furnace transformers, the energy technological parameters of ferroalloy smelting by slag and slag-free process deteriorate. It is noted that an increase in the power of furnace transformers does not lead to a similar increase in the productivity of the furnace unit, since there is no expected increase in the active power in the furnace bath for the technological process. The trends in increasing the size and weight of ferroalloy furnace equipment are considered. An analytical study of the causes of the deterioration of the furnaces to improve the operation of furnace ferroalloy units has been carried out. Additionally, a number of developments and technical solutions for improving the efficiency of ferroalloy electric furnaces are considered.
