Methodological tools in library science research by A. N. Vaneev
Professor Anatoly N. Vaneev’s (1925–2019) fundamental research papers are devoted to the study of the history of library science over an extended period, from the 11th century to the end of the 20th century. His original and profound publications widely reflect new knowledge about the history of library science development, its object, subject, main ideas, essential scientific concepts, theories and approaches. Professor Vaneev paid much attention to the in-depth analysis of the methodological tools used in scientific research, as well as to the qualitative and quantitative research methods used by specialists in the context of chronological stages of development. The history of the development of library science creates the basis for understanding the prerequisites for the emergence, formation and further development of library science as an independent scientific discipline.
