A. N. Vaneev’s contribution to the development of library science: bibliometric analysis of publications

A bibliometric analysis of A. N. Vaneev’s publications has been performed, which has allowed the professional community to identify and confirm the fundamental areas of his scientific and pedagogical activity. Six such areas have been identified and characterized, the main one being the history of the development of domestic library science. A genre analysis of publications is presented, the features of co-authorship and citation of the scientist’s works are shown. Conclusions are made about the fundamental areas of scientific activity (history of library science, methodological work of libraries, library profession, formation of the library staff). The reference circle of the scientist, revealed through co-authorship and review of works, is considered. Approximate data on the use of the results of A. N. Vaneev’s scientific activity (citation) in the professional community are provided. The features of citation of his publications by periods of creative activity are characterized. Conclusions are made about the significance of his works for the professional community in the library and information sphere.
