The main sources of acquisition of works by the Itinerants in the collection of the Kaluga Museum of Fine Arts

The article is devoted to one of the fundamental areas of museum activity – the process of acquisition of funds. This issue is considered as the example of the formation of a collection of works by artists of the "Association of Traveling Art Exhibitions" in the Kaluga Museum of Fine Arts from 1918 to the beginning of the 21st century. Based on the study of archival documents and documents of internal museum records, four main sources of receipt of items from the collection of artists of the "Association of Traveling Art Exhibitions" to the collection of the Kaluga Museum of Fine Arts, the period of their receipt were identified. A typology of works was conducted. The relationship between the features of the formation of the collection of the Traveling Artists and the socio-cultural processes that took place in the country in different historical periods was shown.
