Biography of the "military" generation as a phenomenon of cultural memory

The problem of studying the mechanisms of cultural memory formation continues to be the focus of interdisciplinary research at the present time. According to most researchers, the process of including semantic blocks in cultural memory always "triggers" some socially traumatic event that changes the collective consciousness. One of these events of the 20th century was the Second World War, which had a different impact on the formation of mentality in both European and Russian society. This article analyzes the mechanisms of the formation of stable cultural codes of memory about the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945 in Russia through the prism of the biography of the "military" generation and the reasons for the "oblivion" of the tragedy of the war in Europe.
