Synthesis and characterization of barium magnesium aluminate nanomaterials using neem plant extract: Its photocatalytic and supercapacitor applications
The growing demand for sustainable energy, storage, and environmental remediation solutions necessitates the development of eco-friendly nanomaterials. In this study, Barium Magnesium Aluminate (BMA) nanoparticles (NPs) were synthesized via a green neem plant -extract assisted route and evaluated for their potential in supercapacitor and photocatalytic dye degradation applications. The crystallite size estimated is approximately 18 nm, with Powder X-ray Diffraction (PXRD) confirming a hexagonal phase (P6 3 /mmc). Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) analysis reveals a uniform, flower-like morphology. UV-Vis Diffuse Reflectance Spectroscopy (UV-DRS) analysis determines a bandgap of 2.53 eV. Photocatalytic tests on Fast Orange (FO) and Fast Blue (FB) dyes show superior degradation efficiency for FO. Electrochemical analysis indicates a high specific capacitance of 256.25 F/g at 5 A/g, demonstrating excellent energy storage potential.
