Las criadas en la obra de María de Zayas
This article examines the way in which maids are characterised, and the roles they play, in the narrative and dramatic work of the baroque writer María de Zayas. Although they are secondary characters (responding to the society of her time, which is the one portrayed by the author), their role in the texts is interesting and, in some of them, it also acquires a great importance, as their advice or actions have an effect on the development of events.
