TRENDS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF WASTEWATER TREATMENT TECHNOLOGIES
In the context of rapid urbanization and climate change, wastewater treatment is gaining increasing importance as part of sustainable water resource management. Traditional treatment systems are becoming less capable of addressing emerging challenges, which drives the development and implementation of advanced technologies. This paper analyzes current trends in the field of wastewater treatment, with a focus on the application of membrane bioreactors (MBR), renewable energy sources, the Internet of Things (IoT), and circular economy principles. Special attention is given to the advantages these technologies offer in terms of efficiency, energy sustainability, and resource reuse potential. KEY WORDS: MBR, IoT, renewable energy sources, circular economy.
