Consequently, family disputes have emerged in which multispecies families seek protection from the Judiciary to safeguard rights equivalent to those of legally recognized families, such as custody and the provision of support for their domestic animals.In this context, it is essential to analyze the current legal status of animals under Brazilian law, the concept of the multispecies family, as well as the ongoing conflicts involving such families. Furthermore, it is crucial to examine the current legal treatment of multispecies families within the legal system and what measures are being taken to resolve these disputes — and how the legal framework could evolve to address this purpose.
