Aplikasi Bubu Modifikasi untuk Meningkatkan Hasil Tangkapan Rajungan pada Nelayan Tradisional Desa Alue Naga, Kota Banda Aceh

Background: The demand for crab in Alue Naga Banda Aceh is relatively high. However, this demand has not been met because catches are still low. This is due to the difficulty of using crab fishing gear, which is challenging to apply. This service activity aims to increase crab catches by applying modified traps with a larger size, more muscular frame, and more entrances. Method: The service stages include making and implementing modified traps, socialization, and catch management training. Evaluation and success of activities are reviewed through questionnaires distributed pre and post-activities. Results: This activity has increased the knowledge and skills of partners in expanding the quantity and quality of crab catches. The novelty of this program lies in the application of modified traps, which have proven to be more effective in increasing the quantity and quality of catches than traditional traps. Conclusion: The increase in crab catches showed the effectiveness of the coaching and assistance provided. Fishermen also demonstrate their commitment to sustainability by releasing crab caught in traps that do not meet fishing standards.
