Russian Participles as a Manifestation of Poetic Idiostyle (Based on the Works of A.S. Pushkin and M.Yu. Lermontov)
The connection between semantic, functional-stylistic and idiostylistic aspects of participles functioning in poetic texts — poems by .S. Pushkin and M.Yu. Lermontov with the same names (“Prophet”, “Poet”, “Excerpt”and “Prisoner”) is studied. The results of the qualitative analysis are confirmed by quantitative data. egularities have been identified regarding the functions of participles depending on their grammatical features: full / short form, active / passive voice, present / past tense. Peculiarities of .S. Pushkin's idiostyle form participles that perform an attributive function (full “tangible” participles — 80 %), M.Yu. Lermontov — a predicative function (short “intangible” participles — 50 %). Contextual and stylistic analysis confirms that the dominance in poems of participles with functions specified by poets in a specific grammatical form indicates the participation of participles in the formation of author's styles. The hypothesis about the participation of grammatical forms of participles in the generation of artistic meanings, which, in their turn, are the determinants of poets' idiostyles, is proved.
