Cognitive and Prognostic Potential of Scientific Terms in Literary Discourse

The article considers scientific terms functioning in the domain of literary discourse from the point of view of realization of their cognitive and prognostic potential. The processes of generating and interpreting texts at the overlap of artistic and scientific discourses are becoming especially relevant in modern linguistics in connection with the emergence of a number of hybrid genres that combine features of both artistic and scientific texts. Terminological units act in a literary text as representatives of scientific discourse, ensuring the transfer of information between conceptual spheres associated with the interacting discourses. Scientific notions, actualized in the discursive environment not typical of them, undergo various transformations and acquire new content. Special attention is paid to the author's neologism terms, which not only contribute to the construction of a holistic artistic picture of the world, but also, over time, become part of the research vocabulary of various scientific disciplines.
