Switched-capacitor nine-level quadratic boost inverter (SC-9LQBI) with minimum component
Abstract In this article, a state-of-the-art Switched Capacitor Nine Level Quadratic Boost Inverter (SC9LQBI) is proposed such that it increases voltage output while minimizing the components hence making it applicable in renewable energy applications. The SC-9LQBI is worked with the single DC power source, and by using 8 switches, 2 diodes and 2 capacitors, it can achieve nine voltage levels, with four times higher gain on the voltage. This design also has the advantage of reduced component count which, along with lower system complexity, operational efficiency and costs, makes it further more appealing to many. Starting from the voltage stability in the inverter node, utilise the self-balancing capacitors to stabilize voltage without any additional electronics element than the capacitors installation. Rigorous lab tests and simulations have proven that the SC-9LQBI is doing comparably to traditional multilevel in inverter setup but outperforms it in terms of efficiency and functionality. Such results mark an important milestone in developing inverter technology towards achieving the desire for efficient and sustainable energy technologies.
