OS IMPACTOS PSICOSSOCIAIS DA VIOLÊNCIA DOMÉSTICA

This article addresses the impacts caused by domestic violence on the victim, highlighting its relationship with the machista culture and the archaic structure present in Brazilian society. It brings to light the most related forms of deferred violence and the position of the State in relation to such crime. It emphasizes the most accessible and effective means of combating violence, Law 11.340/2006 (Maria da Penha Law), which despite its sad history of creation, today represents a victory for all women who suffer some type of aggression within the family. In addition, we brought recent data on rates of registered violence and complaints made, which increase more and more each year. Finally, we involved all forms of violence that may or may not occur within the domestic sphere and the impacts most reported by victims on a singular basis in order to explain how each one has an effect on the victim's life.
