El Mapa de las Relaciones Laborales en España

This study represents the first attempt to map a critical business attribute related to human resourcemanagement (HRM): the employment relationship. Using an exploratory research design, it classifiesSpanish municipalities based on the prevalence of companies adopting specific types of employmentrelationships and visualises their geographical distribution across Spain through interactive choroplethmaps (see https://datawrapper.dwcdn.net/RLhX0/2/). Furthermore, it explores the associationsbetween different types of employment relationships and various demographic characteristics(i.e., urbanisation and ageing). The findings reveal the typical profile of employment relationshipsin Spanish municipalities, where the quasi-spot contract employment relationship is predominant. The study highlights the interplay between employment relationships and demographic factors, underscoring how HRM is embedded in the societal context and framing the municipality as a humanresource ecosystem.
