Heuristic Algorithm for Optimizing the Maintenance of Communications and Automation Equipment

The issues of planning the maintenance of communications and automation facilities in the departments of the internal affairs bodies of the Russian Federation are considered. The limitations of using the previously developed full-search algorithm to build an optimal schedule are indicated. The properties of types of maintenance and the peculiarities of their distribution by months of the year are investigated. Heuristic rules are proposed to reduce the number of calculations to build an optimal maintenance schedule. Based on the generated rules, a heuristic algorithm for optimizing the maintenance of communications and automation facilities in the departments of the internal affairs bodies of the Russian Federation is proposed. The results of a computational experiment on the construction of an optimal maintenance schedule are presented, including evaluating the effectiveness of the new algorithm compared to a complete search, and concluding that its practical application is possible.
